AMBASADA Urban Lab Workshop 1
Timisoara Urban Lab | Workshop 1 “Community-led diagnosis, vision and journey to change
The first Urban Lab workshop organised in Timisoara gathered 57 curious participants, from local community associations, academia, the CCSC project partners, and Trans Europe Halles members. The participatory-focused workshop was facilitated by Yiorgos Papamanousakis, an Architect and Urban Development Consultant who is a strong believer in the transformative powers of planning and design, and passionate about the relationship between space and society and committed to an urban development that is socially just and environmentally sustainable.
Over the course of one day, participants worked on a collective diagnosis of the city in three steps: drafting a collective vision for the city composed of four dimensions —physical space, socioeconomic space, spaces of culture dialogue and communication, and political space—; identifying the main challenges that the city is currently facing; and, finally, drafting a theory of change for the city, closing the gap between the challenges and the ideal situation.
